Glass needs a magnet pair
Hanging wreath on glass door work starts with the pane. An over-the-door hanger fits wood or metal. It does not fit a glass pane. Use two magnets, one on each side of the glass, when the wreath is light enough for the pair you bought.
What to buy
Get a magnet pair made to grip through a pane, not a single fridge magnet. Read the weight limit on the package. A fresh balsam wreath with pine cones and a bow weighs more than a small dried piece.

Dry the pane first. Water and fingerprints let the magnet creep. Measure down from the top of the door, put a strip of painter’s tape at that height, and look from the walkway before you commit.
Press the indoor magnet against the tape line. Hold the outdoor magnet at the same height until the two pieces lock. Hang the wreath on the outdoor hook. Open and close the door. If the Rockdale wreath slides, it is too heavy for that pair.

Sliding glass
